Styling the Car Headlights

Posted on April 12, 2010 by admin

Car styling is one of the biggest crazes to hit the modern world. As soon as you buy your first car or have had a few, you want to personalize it and customize it. Many people go for crazy paint jobs or try and achieve a racer look, but for most people having a clean looking, subtly upgraded car is sufficient. One area which is included in upgrading is safety. Having bigger brakes and better suspension is safer for you and your car. Another way to be safe is to get HID headlights.

The HID conversion kit is a new way of upgrading your headlight’s performance, without breaking the bank. It involves replacing the old bulbs with new gas filled bulbs and attaching ballasts. This helps start the bulbs as they get their great performance from an electrical arc passing between two electrodes. This, in the confined space of a gas filled bulb produces incredible light.

Be warned however, that aftermarket HID kits are not approved by DOT, so they should be used only for exhibition or off-road.

But if driving off-road, having better headlights is paramount when it comes to being safer. The HID kits light up dark night as if it were daylight. This helps you protect your car as you might miss objects with poorer headlights such as halogens.

Now, I’m sure you are thinking they are really expensive. Well there aren’t. They are better performers, give off a higher intensity of light and draw less energy. They also last around four times longer than standard bulbs, so buying HID lights really does not require much thought.

Once you fit them, which is easy, you will be the envy of your friends, neighbors and passersby.
